Strengthening Independent Media: JAMnews Coordination Meeting and Editors` Workshop in Estonia

Last week editors and journalists from JAMnews (https://jam-news.net/) held a series of meetings and workshops in Estonia in cooperation with ECEAP.  JAMnews is a unique media platform uniting professional journalists from around the Caucasus including 🇦🇲Armenia, 🇦🇿Azerbaijan and 🇬🇪Georgia, who report on the latest developments in the region. Through increasing awareness about life on different sides of the conflict areas, in opposite political and social realities, JAMnews aims to promote better understanding between people. Articles and reports representing a variety of views are published on the platform in 5 languages – Armenian, Azerbaijani, English, Georgian and Russian, which ensures a wide and diverse audience. 

During their time in Estonia editors and journalist from JAMnews met with their Ukrainian colleagues from the Ukraine Crisis Media Center, Estonian colleagues from the Estonian Public Broadcasting and newspaper Postimees, and attended the Opinion Festival in Paide where ECEAP co-organised 2 discussion panels. Their visit to Estonia was financed by the the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs development cooperation fund. ​
