The Estonian Center of Eastern Partnership launched a project in October 2020, focusing on supporting the rule of law in Ukraine, mainly in the field of prosecution. The aim of the project is to support Ukraine in implementing the prosecution reform through Estonia’s experience. The Head Expert of the project is the Estonian Prosecutor General in 2014-2020, Ms. Lavly Perling, who together with ECEAP Director Mr. Gert Antsu met this week with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, Ms. Iryna Venediktova, with whom further cooperation was discussed in three main areas: shaping of criminal policy, including the special treatment of minors within the legal system; communication; and development of an e-case management system.
The project is being implemented in cooperation with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM). The project is funded by the European Union and co-funded by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from development and humanitarian aid funds.
