The e-Partnership conference will focus on how EU’s Eastern Partnership countries use information and communications technology to promote the transparency of government processes and ensure the safety and security of cyberspace.
The conference aims to showcase the positive results that have already been achieved in EU Eastern Partnership countries in developing e-governance. It will also provide an opportunity to evaluate the current situation in the region, and look at the way forward. This will be done on the basis of a Situation Review, compiled in close cooperation with all six partner countries. This document, which will be officially released at the event, concentrates on two distinct areas: e-democracy and cyber safety/security.
Guided by the findings of the Review, experts and policymakers from EU member states and Eastern Partnership countries will then engage in structured debate and discussion on both areas. The conference will also feature a presentation on best practices as well as opportunities to exchange ideas for improving current operational practices. Policy recommendations will also be offered.
The event will be live-streamed on the Internet. Videos related to the Conference will be made available at the Presidency’s videos page; photos of this and other events can be accessed on its photos page or Flickr account.
