NB! Project has already passed
Description: The aim of the project is to analyze the Kura-Araks transboundary basin water conflict and policy development in Georgia and draw attention to the impact on human health and situation of women. The analytical paper will be developed to give an insider view on challenges and realities people in Georgia face.
The policy analysis will focus on the transboundary Kura-Araks basin of the South Caucasus countries, where increased demand of clean water and water scarcity can lead to the water conflict among the states sharing water resources. Possible water conflict among Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, due to unsustainable use and management of shared water resources leads to watershed degradation and decreased quality of the water.
These analysis will improve the awareness of real situations, progress, and gaps, and helps to understand if the goals set for the development cooperation in this field are being met and whether they are reflecting real needs.
